  • Hi Josh–
Enjoy your podcast! Very frank about reality, but gentle enough about it! I’m not quite living in the real world yet about designing and GETTING PAID, but happy to have left a truly soul deadening job.

Thanks for putting this out there,
    Deb

  • Awesome podcast series, very informative, clear and honest. I’m in a 9-5, Mon-Fri job right now as an embroidery digitizer/engraver/vinyl print designer but I’m looking to go to uni to study illustration in 2008 as a mature - 22 year old student because the grass isn’t getting any greener here. Tweak’s already got me thinking about making it as a working illustrator after hopefully gaining my degree and in the meantime has me thinking about how I can use my current graphic/web design knowledge to generate some funds to help me pay for fees! Keep up the good work, can’t wait for the next one - cheer’s Josh!

  • Wow! Found this and listened to 3 episodes while I was doing my work. It’s a constant battle here in Jamaica, to set the right pricing for as a business to survive and for clients to pay for your expertise and time. To break out of that humdrum scenario, we held an event called Kingston Beta in Kingston, Jamaica - to share industry trends in web and mobile technology and also to showcase our expertise. We also invited other experts to present. The event was well received. So It was real inspiring to hear the podcast topic on “YOU the expert”, as the information was quite relative to what my biz partner and I have been discussing. The podcasts are great, looking forward to hearing much more. Keep ‘em coming. Thanks & ‘Nuff Respect . Susan
